Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) Agency Nottingham

Appear on the Bing and Yahoo! search engines and bolster your paid search campaigns with lower cost per clicks

It’s no secret that Google dominates the search engine market share with over 90% of the market globally. However, this is lower in the UK at around 80% with the Bing and Yahoo! search engines combining to a market share of around 20%. This means that there are still millions of searches performed on this network every single day across the UK.

Of course, a paid search strategy without Google would lead to low volumes so we would rarely encourage the use of Microsoft Advertising on its own, however, it’s a fantastic way to add to your paid search strategy and scale what you already have.

There are also advantages that Microsoft Advertising provides over Google Ads search including:

  • Lower cost per clicks due to less competition
  • Different demographic with data showing a slightly more mature and educated audience
  • Partnerships with many other search engines including Yahoo! and DuckDuckGo
  • Large proportion of voice searches happen through Bing as Amazon Alexa uses Bing

Our Microsoft Advertising Agency in Nottingham

We have been running Microsoft Advertising campaigns for clients for over 5 years and have recently became a Microsoft Advertising Partner in 2019 and have maintained this partner status for the past 3 years.

We commit to Microsoft Advertising campaigns by ensuring they get dedicated optimisation time that includes reviewing and optimising the data separately to Google Ads campaigns. The option is there to simply optimise in Google Ads and then import the changes over to Microsoft Advertising however we disagree with this optimisation approach as the data is often different in Microsoft Advertising compared to Google Ads.

We believe that dedicating resources specifically to the Microsoft Advertising campaigns is what allows us to achieve great results such as the example shown below.

Example Results

Below is an example of the recent results we have achieved for a client generating over 280 leads per month from Microsoft Advertising at a cost per lead of just over £10 which is under the target cost per lead.

This is is adding around 10% of extra volume to the total leads generated from Google Ads at the same cost per lead showing how Microsoft Advertising is a great tool for scaling Google Ads success and driving more volume from paid search.

Our Approach To Microsoft Advertising

Plan

Progress

“The path to success is to take
massive determined actions”

Tony Robbins

Prosper

“A quitter never wins and a
winner never quits”

Napoleon Hill

Our approach always begins with a plan. We’ll discuss what your business objectives are and what we are trying to achieve with Microsoft Advertising. Are we aiming to simply scale what we are doing with Google Ads or are we looking to target a different audience?

We will then begin the build of the Microsoft Advertising campaigns and begin creating the ad groups, keywords and landing pages and adverts. We may use the import from Google Ads tool here which helps us to reduce the time spent on setups and get the campaigns launched faster.

From there we move onto the ongoing prosper phase where we are continually aiming to improve the campaigns. We dedicate resources directly to your Microsoft Advertising campaigns so you can be sure we won’t simply be applying the same changes we made in Google Ads.

ROI Driven Approach

Many paid search agencies highlight a data driven approach but at Key Principles we like to take that one step further with an ROI driven approach. So what do we mean by this and what’s the difference between a data-driven approach and an ROI driven approach?

Data Driven Approach

In a data-driven approach, tracking will be setup on your website providing visibility on the number of paid search enquiries. This data can then be used in the optimisation process helping to understand which keywords, adverts and landing pages are leading to a higher number of enquiries.

ROI Driven Approach

Whilst a data driven approach is very important, the data only provides information on the number of enquiries, not the number of sales. An ROI driven approach takes the next step of understanding the volume of paid search sales, providing more valuable data to optimise and increase the success of the campaigns.

Microsoft Advertising Search FAQs

Is Microsoft Advertising the same as Google Ads?

Whilst Microsoft Advertising works in a very similar way to Google Ads (we bid on keywords and show our adverts to people searching on search engines) there are some distinct differences. The most obvious difference is that we are displaying ads on the Bing search engine instead of Google but we are also targeting a slightly different demographic as well.

Is Microsoft Advertising cheaper than Google Ads?

Whilst it can’t be guaranteed, it is more than likely that the cost per clicks will be lower on Microsoft Advertising than Google Ads as there is usually less advertisers bidding and therefore less competition. Cheaper cost per clicks doesn’t always lead to cheaper cost per enquiries though and that’s the metric that’s most important.

Does anyone actually use Bing?

This is a question we get asked all the time and the answer is yes. Bing has around 20% of the UK search engine market share and handles tens of millions of searches every single day. Whilst their numbers pale in comparison to Google, there are still plenty of searches happening each and every day on Bing making it worthwhile getting your business in front of their searchers.

Can I use Microsoft Advertising on its own?

You can if you really want to, however, our recommendation to most clients is to try Google Ads first. Microsoft Advertising is a great way of adding volume to a paid search strategy but doesn’t usually drive enough volume on its own for a business. However if you aren’t looking for a high volume of enquiries then running it alone could be an option for you.
